NADJA ADELMANN *1987

works and lives in Frankfurt am Main and Stuttgart, Germany.

Nadja Adelmann’s artistic practice operates at the intersection of sculpture, installation, and interactive media. She works with processes of perception, spatial relationships, and the dialogue between material and meaning—with the aim of creating aesthetic and conceptual interspaces in which reality reveals itself as something relational. She is particularly interested in constellations where firmly held truths begin to waver. Whether through mechanisms of movement, sensorially responsive surfaces, or subtly displaced materials, her works seek to challenge patterns of thought and perception—not provocatively, but in a subtle, poetic, and almost incidental way. Her engagement with theories from quantum physics, philosophy of language, and sociology is not illustrative but serves as a conceptual space in which art, research, and lived experience interpenetrate. The resulting works—such as GegenstrichMediopassive II, or This is Air—often emerge from an exploration of movement, observation, affection, and the role of the viewer as a co-creator of reality.

In recent years, her work has been shown at local and international exhibitions (e.g. in the Netherlands, Vienna, Singapore and Seoul) as well as art fairs (such as Art Düsseldorf, Art Cologne, VOLTA Basel and Enter Art Fair Copenhagen). Several of her works are held in private and public collections.
